Hello!

Allow me to introduce myself.

Born November of 1999, I was named after a little town in Iowa. (Or, as my grandma would say, “Less like a town and more like a gas station on the side of the road.”)

Is my name hard for people to pronounce? Yes. Is it cooler than anything else I was almost named? Also, yes.

Hi. I’m Atalissa. It’s nice to meet you.

Ever since I can remember I used to either lay on the carpet doodling away, or make up dances to my favorite Little Mermaid or Aqua CDs. I’d design clothing lines using my Crayola fashion stencil kit. I loved making movies with Windows Movie Maker and stop motions with my bulky silver camera.

Bottom line is, I’ve always been creative. It’s my passion. In 2020 I decided to start selling my drawings on Redbubble. From there, my excitement about pursuing the arts as a career grew. So, Atafrd Industries was born.

Why is it called that? Well, I chose the word “Industries” because I do more than just art. I dance, do makeup and body paint, and more that might one day make it to my website. I didn’t want to put myself in a box, because sometimes I color outside the lines.

“Atafrd” is a word that has a little bit of history. Well, more like a very short, mildly amusing anecdote.

I was 9 or 10, stretching before my solo lesson at my childhood dance studio. I was alone in the room, minding my own business. Suddenly, my teacher enters the room and exclaimed, “Yo, you ready to go, Attiford?” (Pronounced At-Uh-fur-d) I decided this was hilarious, obviously, and I adopted it. Change the spelling a little, and it was my brand for everything. (Even my embarrassing deviant art account from when I was 15)

Take a look around! Maybe you’ll find something you like.
